Folk singer Malkoo filed a miscellaneous petition in the Lahore High Court on Saturday, seeking the removal of his name from the Exit Control List.

Lawyer Azhar Sadiq has also taken back power of attorney from the folk singer.

Earlier this week, the government placed his name on the no-fly list a day before he was scheduled to leave for a series of concerts in the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

He also cancelled his plans for overseas travel after the release of a new version of his famous song Nak Da Koka. Previous versions of the song supported former prime minister Imran Khan.

Although the singer did not share any clips or videos of the song, former PTI leaders and some journalists shared the new song’s clips on social media.

They claimed that the new song contained lyrics praising the military. The earlier versions of the song were on Kaptaan, Qaidi No 804, and Naib Kaptaan.
