Pakistani singer Malkoo has released a new version of his famous folk song Nak Da Koka, supporting former prime minister Imran Khan, after he was placed on the no-fly list before his United Kingdom tour.

Although the singer did not share any clips or videos of the song, former PTI leaders and some journalists shared the new song’s clips on social media.

They claimed that the new song contained lyrics praising the military. The earlier versions of the song were on Kaptaan, Qaidi No 804, and Naib Kaptaan.

The development comes after the government placed his name on the Exit Control List a day before he was scheduled to leave for a series of concerts in the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

When his YouTube channel reached milestones, he thanked PTI founder Khan for the achievement in a Facebook post.

Former information minister Fawad Chaudhry described the new song as “a press conference”, in a veiling reference to the ex-PTI leaders who parted ways with the party after facing investigations into the May 9 incidents.

“A few days ago, Singer Malkoo, famous for his viral song supporting Imran Khan was stopped from traveling abroad. He has now updated the song, added new lyrics praising the military. :)” journalist Absa Komal said.
