The Ministry of Interior has announced a new policy suspending the issuance of passports to Pakistani citizens seeking asylum abroad.

This decision, made in the context of national security and safety, was announced by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

The Ministry has issued a directive to all relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to implement this policy.

The directive states that any Pakistani citizen granted asylum in another country will be ineligible for a passport. Passports held by such individuals will be revoked and will not be renewed.
