Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has warned the ruling coalition of the 1971 tragedy—when East Pakistan separated from the West—as he hoped that the time would come when violators of the Constitution would be hanged.

“What happened in 1971? You broke Pakistan just to give power to a person whose name was Bhutto. Today again you are repeating the same mistake for their children. The person because of whom Pakistan broke was hanged,” he said while addressing the party’s rally in KP’s Swat on Saturday.

“Neither that Pakistan can come back nor that Bhutto. Who suffered because of that? This nation suffered a loss,” he said and claimed that only “personalities” were causing the damage.

Footage showed that a large number of people had gathered for the gathering as the former ruling party continues to give tough time to the Centre.

Imran Khan’s party claims that the three major parties of the federal government came to power after its mandate was stolen on February 8 when the country went to general elections.

Without naming anyone, Gandapur said that personalities should not damage the country’s institutions and the PTI does not accept their decisions. “We do not accept them.”

He claimed that the ruling coalition in the Centre did not have the mandate, peoples’ power, and strength to rule the country.

Gandapur dared the federal government to impose taxes on the province. “By God, I as a CM announce that until I am alive, no one can impose tax on whether it is FATA or BATA.”

He added that the province’s people would make the decision and demanded the government give a record of the tax money spending

“Secondly Pakistan’s Constitution has been broken. The country cannot run on the decisions of institutions or personalities. A country is run on the Constitution,” the KP chief minister said, “violators of the Constitution should hear that the time will come that we will hang the violators of the Constitution as per the law.”

He added that such people should not be mistaken as “real strength” lies in people.

The KP chief minister went on to add that the party would take account of the “hardships” faced by their incarcerated party leader.

At the start of the speech, he said that the party was waiting for Khan’s call to take to the streets. He claimed that the Pasthun would not compromise and praised the community for its contribution to Pakistan’s struggle.

While talking about the provincial funds, he said the federal government did an “illegal act” by not releasing funds for the province.

He reiterated that the party was waiting for Khan’s call to turn to streets.

KP Governor Kundi hits back at CM Gandapur for speaking ‘without evidence’

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has hit back at Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for speaking “without evidence,” saying that the latter has no other choice but to make fiery speeches.

“I ask him to talk with evidence and approach a proper forum and your issues will be resolved,” he told reporters in Islamabad after an event on Saturday.

“He [Gandapur] is in compulsion to make such speeches to seal his post. If he does not say such things and instead has pictures with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi then he will be summoned [by the PTI chief],” Kundi said.

When asked, the governor said that he would not stoop so low to respond to the chief minister’s comments.

Kundi challenged Gandapur to a TV debate on any topic. “I believe he will run away from the interview as he was running on the highway.”

According to the KP governor, there were “two Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces” including one on social media and another in Pakistan.

He claimed that the province’s lawyer misinformed the chief justice of Pakistan in a case about the appointment of vice-chancellors at 26 universities.

While referring to the CJP, Kundi said that he was willing to appear on every forum and inform them that he had not received any summary.

“I will not take a minute to sign the summary whenever it comes,” he said and demanded the CJP to take action. He announced that he has called for third-party audit of universities opened in different districts.

Kundi further demanded a joint investigation team to know the perpetrators of Kolachi incident in which Israr Gandapur and other leaders were killed.
