Guard who shot vlogger claims to be ‘ill’, denies intention to kill

The security guard accused of killing a civilian at the Serena Mobile Mall in Karachi’s Sakhi Hassan area has spoken out, claiming illness and denying any intentional act.

The suspect, identified as Hamad Gul, told the media today that he suffers from dizziness and trembling legs, and is currently undergoing treatment. He denied any intention to fight with the victim, stating he doesn’t know how the shooting occurred.

Gul, a resident of Khyber Agency, said he arrived in Karachi at a young age and had been working for the Shah Security Company for the past three months. He expressed remorse, claiming he doesn’t know how the gun fired.

Meanwhile, the funeral prayers for the victim, 35-year-old Saad Ahmed, were held today. The prayers were offered at the Jamia Masjid Darussalam in Buffer Zone, with the participation of MQM-P members of the Sindh Assembly, including Jamal Ahmed, Rehan Akram, and Abdul Wasim.

The incident

Saad Ahmed was shot and killed by the security guard while filming a vlog yesterday.

The incident occurred after the security guard became enraged by the vlogger’s repeated attempts to film videos. The deceased vlogger has been identified as Saad Ahmad.

The guard confirmed the incident, stating that he fired the shot after the vlogger repeatedly filmed him.

Ahmed sustained serious injuries from the gunshot and was rushed to the hospital, but succumbed to his wounds.

Police have apprehended the security guard following the incident.

Statement from vlogger’s friend

A friend of the deceased vlogger, who witnessed the incident, stated that they were filming a video for their YouTube channel about the India-Pakistan match.

He said that Saad had just taken out his camera to record when the guard suddenly fired, initially leaving Saad unaware that he had been shot.
