Two brothers killed in targeted attack in Karachi’s Gurumandir area
At least two brothers – out of five – were killed in a “targeted incident” when unidentified men on a motorcycle intercepted their vehicle and opened fire at it in Karachi’s Gurumandir area on Thursday, police said.
“Two out of the five brothers could not sustain the injuries after being targeted and two are wounded. The fifth brother is fine and with the police,” Jamshed SP Aleena Rajpar told Aaj News.
They were on their way to the court as police suspected the attack to be an incident of “personal enmity”.
She added that the police were backtracking the killing to ascertain “what was the initiation point and from where did the attackers follow the car.”
Initial reports said that there was an element of “personal enmity”, but Rajpar said that it could be determined after verification.
“It will be too soon to make any statement on this,” she said and added that the police have found 17 bullet shells from the site of the incident.
CCTV footage showed four unidentified men on two motorcycles chasing a black hatchback vehicle. Two men out of them were seen opening fire at the vehicle.
