Punjab Police, Interpol arrest suspect in transgender case

Punjab Police and Interpol have arrested the proclaimed offender accused of murdering a transgender person.

The suspect, who was wanted, has been apprehended in Saudi Arabia.

Sufyan Ali had murdered the transgender person Usman, also known as Pia, in Kamoke in 2020.

The accused had fled abroad after the incident.

Pakistan coordinated with the Saudi Arabian police, the accused has been arrested and transferred to Pakistan.

A police team has taken the suspect into custody from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal Airport.
