According to a source cited by OK! Magazine, 27-year-old model and Rhode founder Hailey Bieber was hesitant to start a family with her husband until he was in a healthier, more stable mental state. The source revealed that the couple had gone through a rough patch in their marriage, with divorce even being considered at one point.

“He’s a lot clingier, while she’s always been more emotionally mature and able to see things in a clearer way,” the insider shared. “They got married so young and weren’t emotionally equipped to deal with it.”

The source added that both Justin and Hailey had faced individual health challenges, including Hailey’s mini-stroke and Justin’s diagnosis of Ramsay Hunt syndrome. This led Hailey to want to wait until their relationship was on more solid footing before bringing a child into the world.

“Hailey didn’t want to bring a child into their world until things were more stable,” the source said. “He stopped pushing her and making her feel guilty, and that’s when things turned around.”

The couple has since turned to their faith and sought professional help through therapy. Now, they are reportedly “overjoyed” with the pregnancy news and their marriage is said to be in “good shape.”
