Gandapur threatens to take over grid station if load shedding persists

CM also criticizes federal govt for not clearing dues

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has threatened to take over the control of the grid station if the unannounced load shedding in the province is not reduced by tomorrow.

In a video message, Gandapur gave the federal government a deadline to release a schedule for reducing electricity load shedding. He accused the federal government of ignoring the province’s pleas and continuing “brutal” load shedding.

“I am giving a clear message to the federal government and the federal minister of energy,” Gandapur said. “You do not understand the language of honesty. Despite repeated requests, you are not ready to sit down and discuss the issue. If you think our honesty is weakness, then listen, we are not weak.”

Gandapur further stated that he has spoken to the Chief PESCO and demanded a reduction in load shedding. He threatened to personally visit the PESCO office and create a load shedding reduction schedule himself if there is no relief within 5-6 hours and no schedule is released by tonight.

“If the Chief PESCO remains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he will have to follow my schedule,” Gandapur declared.

He also criticized the federal government for not clearing the province’s dues and accused them of “stealing” the mandate.

“You are being unjust to my province,” Gandapur said. “You stole the mandate and are now comfortably looting my province.”

The Chief Minister warned that if the load shedding is not reduced by tomorrow, he will take over the PESCO office and the grid station and hand them over to his province.

“The button is in your hands, but we will use it ourselves,” Gandapur concluded.
