Attorney General of Pakistan, Mansoor Awan said on Tuesday that a recent letter by Justice Babar Sattar was being used to give he impression of interference in the Islamabad High Court.

Speaking to the media in Islamabad, he stated that a judge of the Islamabad High Court had written a letter to the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court regarding a commission of inquiry, and the contents of the letter or the report related to it were made public in such a way that it gives the impression of interference in the court.

He added that if a specific message was sent to the judge regarding a particular case or if he understood it or received it from someone who should not have sent it, then the matter should be clarified.

Mansoor Awan said that nowadays it is being perceived that there are strained relations between the judiciary and the executive, but the purpose of writing the letter was not to interfere.
