‘My agenda is over’: Sher Afzal Marwat snaps at Omar Ayub, Shibli Faraz
PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat launched into a diatribe against senior party leaders Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz, hours after it was confirmed that the party has nominated Shaikh Waqar Akram for the position of Public Accounts Commmittee chairman and not him.
Marwat, who wanted to meet Imran Khan in Adiala Jail on Tuesday but failed to do so, said Ayub and Faraz stopped him from meeting Khan by collaborating with the jail authorities.
“The agenda on which I came out is over today. My agenda was to secure release of Imran Khan,” Marwat told reporters in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
He said he did not want to contest the general election but did so on the instruction of Imran Khan.
Marwat also expressed displeasure over removal of his brother from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet. He said he was angry at the manner in which his brother was de-notified. “IF they did not want to keep him, they should have said [instead of de-notifying him] he would have resigned,” said Marwat.
Sher Afzal Marwat said he was not willing to work with other leaders of the PTI.
He said that the PTI was a ‘dead horse’ when he joined it and revived the party as the other leader hid from the law.
Marwat rose to fame for leading rallies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when many other PTI leaders went underground to avoid arrest after the May 9 violence. There were report that he was slated to become PAC Chairman, a key position in the Parliament.
“I am leaving and will come back only when Khan sb calls me,” he said adding that he was not reading to accept humiliation.
