The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is bracing for another spell of rain only weeks after heavy downpours disrupted life across the country. Schools and public parks have been closed and events postponed, Zahid Ali of Aaj News reported on Wednesday.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has recommended remote work and distance learning. The country’s leading media outlets also carried reports about the forecast of heavy rainfall on Thursday and Friday.

The Ministry of Education has decided to shut all public schools and colleges in anticipation of torrential rain and uncertain weather conditions.

The Emergency Committee Crisis AND Disaster Management Authority responsible has stated that online classes will be conducted for all schools.
