Barrister Gohar denies ‘back door’ talks as govt removes more PTI-linked persons from no-fly list
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has firmly denied that any party representative has the authority to engage in negotiations with any institution. Speaking to the media in Rawalpindi, he clarified the party’s stance on potential talks.
Khan stated that he had discussed the matter of negotiations with Imran Khan, the party’s leader who is currently imprisoned. He emphasized that any decision regarding talks would either come directly from him or be announced by Imran Khan himself from jail.
“We are not currently engaged in any negotiations,” Khan asserted. “The day any talks take place, we will inform the media. No representative of the party has the authority to discuss negotiations with any institution.”
He added that there could be disagreements in the party as it is not a dictatorship. However, he said that the party’s decision was endorsed by all.
Barrister Gohar said that the name of Sher Afzal Marwat has not been withdrawn for the chairmanship of PAC, but the matter will be decided by tomorrow, it is up to Khan Sahib to choose whom.
