Pakistan has announced a significant decision to strengthen security measures for foreign nationals in the country, especially in the federal capital territory of Islamabad.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Maqvi announced the force on Saturday.

The establishment of a new force is aimed at ensuring foreigners’ safety and safeguarding important documents and locations, including high-security areas such as the Red Zones.

The Special Protection Force will be entrusted with the responsibility of closely monitoring and safeguarding the interests of these individuals.

In a significant development regarding security and public safety, a high-level meeting was convened under the leadership of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

Minister Naqvi issued several crucial directives to address various issues, including a crackdown on drug trafficking and the establishment of a dedicated Special Protection Force to ensure the complete security of foreign citizens in Islamabad.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to combating the drug trade, Minister Naqvi emphasized the need to apprehend individuals involved in drug trafficking. To achieve this goal, he ordered the law enforcement agencies to employ advanced technological tools to effectively bring the culprits to justice.

Furthermore, Minister Naqvi expressed grave concern over drug peddling outside educational institutions, declaring it unacceptable. The Interior Minister underscored the need to maintain a drug-free environment for students and pledged to take strict measures to curb this menace.

In a bid to further bolster security measures, Minister Naqvi assigned a task to the Inspector General of Police, Islamabad, and the entire team under his command. This task aims to enhance coordination and ensure the efficient implementation of security protocols across the city.

In a separate directive, the Interior Minister instructed the relevant authorities to take decisive action against the mafia and professional beggars, ensuring their effective prosecution. The government is determined to counter their illegal activities and maintain law and order throughout the city.

Additionally, Minister Naqvi highlighted the importance of providing full-proof security to foreign citizens residing in Islamabad. Recognizing the significance of vital documents and locations, including the Red Zones, he called for special attention and heightened security measures in these areas.

He warned of strict action against any police officer found reluctant or negligent in registering the cases in the FIA’s system.

Minister Naqvi also emphasized the timely resolution of pending promotion cases within the Islamabad Police force, ensuring that deserving officers receive their due promotions promptly. He expressed confidence that such promotions would enhance the morale of the police force and contribute to improved law enforcement.
