PTI distances itself from Marwat’s allegation against Saudi Arabia
Prominent leadership and the spokesperson of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have categorically refuted the claims made by Sher Afzal Marwat regarding Saudi Arabia’s role in a regime change operation.
Yesterday, Sher Afzal Marwat, while speaking on a TV show hosted by Garida Farooqui claimed that Saudi Arabia was also involved in the regime change operation along with the United States.
He also claimed that Pakistan has offered two military bases to the United States to launch attacks inside Afghanistan and Iran.
The claims surfaced at a time when a high-level Saudi delegation, led by the foreign minister, is on an official visit to Pakistan to strengthen bilateral ties.
In response to Marwat’s statements, PTI’s spokesperson issued a clarification on Wednesday, stating that the party neither endorses nor considers Marwat’s views as based on PTI’s principles or stance. The spokesperson emphasized that Marwat’s comments solely represent his personal opinion, which is not endorsed or validated by the PTI leadership or its members.
The spokesperson further stated that Saudi Arabia holds a position of utmost closeness and trust as a brotherly Islamic country, and the PTI chairman, Imran Khan, along with the party’s leadership and workers, views the relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia with great importance and respect.
The statement also highlighted the mutual respect, trust, and fraternal ties between Imran Khan, the founder of PTI, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman.
