Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Wednesday that he had found an agreement with Imran Khan to work together after the 2013 elections but things had given way to sit-ins and protests.

Addressing a meeting of the parliamentary party on Wednesday, Nawaz said that the party has gained a massive victory in the national elections.

Without naming PTI, Nawaz said that he was still unable to understand the politics of his opponents.

He was flanked by Shehbaz Sharif and Khawaja Asif as he addressed the members of his party.

Nawaz said that the judges who had sentenced him were nowhere to be found today, but PMLN has once again won an election.

He said that his removal had harmed the country more that it had harmed him.

The former PM also said that post election atmosphere had always seemed upbeat in the past but was in a state which he had never seen before.

Addressing the meeting, Shehbaz thanked independent candidates who had chosen to join the PMLN after their victory in elections. He added that the independents had joined the party ‘unconditionally’.

He added that the party now had 104 members in the National Assembly.

He also recounted how Nawaz had been ousted from power despite undertaking dozens of projects across Pakistan. He added that despite being removed, Nawaz had never ordered anyone to storm the GHQ in Rawalpindi.

Without naming PTI, Shehbaz said that it was a matter of arrogance and narcissism that its own mandate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was considered correct but elections had been criticised where they had lost.

He also presented a resolution reaffirming confidence in Nawaz’s leadership and praising his services for democracy.
