Pakistani band Aur has said that their collaboration with Zayn Malik has expanded their fan base.

“Previously we only had a Pakistani audience, now we have people from the UK, Brazil, China… so it feels very good,” said bandmate Raffey Anwar told BBC.

Earlier this week, the band comprising members from Karachi released the remake version of their hit single ‘Tu Hai Kahan’ featuring former One Direction singer with vocals in Urdu.

The original version garnered more than 100 million views and the remake version is also getting popular among music lovers as it has got more than nine million views since its premiere on January 2.

The collaboration which they described as “dream come true” happened after discussions between Malik’s and Aur’s management, the band said.

They added that their family and friends could believe when they found out they were collaborating with him.

Band members Usama Ali, 21, Ahad Khan, 20, and Anwar, 18, were already popular in South Asia.

But Ali said it was “all about dreams coming true” when they worked with Malik and get the global audiences.

“When we go out somewhere, people instantly recognise us,” Ali said. “The reaction has been very good, not just friends, the whole of Pakistan has given us a great reaction.”
