10-day celebration began in Brunei’s capital city on January 7

Brunei’s Prince Abdul Mateen, once described as Asia’s most eligible prince, has married his longtime girlfriend Anisha Rosnah in a 10-day lavish ceremony in the capital city.

The celebration began on January 7 in Bandar Seri Begawan, with over 500 guests, including royalty from Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Prince Abdul Mateen is the tenth child and fourth son of Brunei’s Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah while Rosnah is the granddaughter of a royal adviser.

The couple exchanged vows at the official residence of the sultan Istana Nurul Iman, which is the world’s largest residential palace.

The Southeast Asian nation is one of the world’s richest states due to its massive wealth derived almost entirely from oil and gas reserves.
