KP, Balochistan provinces freeze in Pakistan cold snap
The Meteorological Department on Monday forecast cold and dry weather during the next 24 to 48 hours for most of the districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Karaj, Kalam, and others in hilly areas experienced severe cold as the temperature dropped to -4 degrees Celsius.
The temperature in Chitral was recorded at -3 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the minimum temperature recorded in Peshawar was 5 degrees Celsius.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has extended the winter vacations till Sunday next due to prevailing cold weather conditions and teachers’ engagements in general elections training.
In other parts of the country, the met department predicted cold and dry weather in most districts of Balochistan including Quetta, and it will remain partly cloudy in other western districts.
The temperature recorded in Quetta was minus 2 Celsius, in Qalat it was -5, and -4 in Ziyarat.
