Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in the upper part of the country as the mercury moved to minus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Balistan, and Kashmir.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted cold intensity to increase in the upper parts of the country. According to PMD, -1, -2, and -4 degrees Celsius minimum temperatures have been recorded in KP, Kashmir and GB, respectively.

However, the residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are also facing chilly weather in the middle of December and temperature is expected to drop further in the coming days.

In its fresh advisory, PMD said cold and dry weather will prevail in the capital as the mercury is expected to drop 2 to 4 degrees Celsius during the day.

As per the predictions, alongside the coldness, some parts of Sindh and Punjab will witness fog and smog early in the morning and late at night.
