Pak Hajj App launched to facilitate pilgrims
Pakistan has launched a mobile application to facilitate the intending Hajj pilgrims, as the government plans to digitise the operations.
“The launch of Hajj application is a milestone in the process of digitisation,” caretaker Information Technology and Telecommunications Minister Umar Saif said at the launching ceremony on Wednesday.
The application is developed by the National Information Technology Board.
The pilgrims could register with the application by using the OTP received via SMS. They would be given a unique ID, which would be their CNIC and the application number. They have to enter and update their information.
It would also help them to view their Hajj application status and Hajj training schedules. It would also show flight details, building, and room details. It would also provide information about the Maktab (camp) location.
Pilgrims can submit complaints, requests, and general inquiries, track requests through the app. To assist the people, the application is made multilingual. Soon more languages would be added.
“The Hajj of 2024 will be digitised. Now the pilgrims will participate digitally in every process from submitting their application to paying hajj and returning home,” Religious Affairs Minister Aneeq Ahmed said.
