Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the peoples court must rule in favour of a prosperous Pakistan in the next general election. He also said that he had always delviered on his promises.

In a recorded address that was broadcast on TV stations on Thursday, Nawaz thanked his party workers for standing by him and said that his relief was the result of their efforts.

He added that the ‘conspiracy’ against him had begun with the sit-ins of 2014 and had ended with him being removed from office and being disqualified for life.

Nawaz said that he had been called ‘godfather’ and said he had been acted against in a case that had been declared frivolous by a judge of the Supreme Court. He added that a SC judge had monitored the trials against him and judges had been threatened to make decisions against him.

He said that he had not been able to shoulder his father’s funeral or lower his mother into the grave. He added that he did not get to spend time with his wife in her last time but had been given patience by god to bear such sorrows.

Nawaz said that it was impossible to go back in time or bring back his loved ones but he was happy that fake cases against him had been exposed.

He added that he had spent six years wondering why people of Pakistan had been punished just in his enmity. He said that Pakistan had been turned into a ‘beggar’ country even though it had progressed under him.

Nawaz added that people had been punished in a worse way that he was.

The former PM added that he was happy that he had bee n acquitted by courts but would only be happy when the people of pakistan were exonerated from poverty and would be able to afford the basic necessities of life.

He claimed that people had received medicines and treatments free of cost in his government.

Nawaz added that he did not make empty promises but actually delivered on them. He said that he had never been handed the government in a good state, but had left Pakistan better than he had found.

He said that while he had to ask the courts to rule in his favour, the people were a court themselves and must announce their judgement in favour of a prsperous Pakistan on February 8.
