Pakistan Super League team Karachi Kings on Wednesday appointed Pakistan’s Test team skipper Shan Masood as captain for the ninth edition of the tournament.

“A new captain takes the helm, welcoming @shani_official as crowned leader of Karachi Kings in #HBLPSL9,” the team account posted on X.

The team picked New Zealand batter Tim Seifert in the Diamond category.

Kings were led by Imad Wasim in the previous edition who joined Islamabad United for the upcoming edition.

Meanwhile, Quetta Gladiators kept Sarfaraz Ahmed as their captain of the team. They were also joined by pace bowler Mohammad Amir and all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz for the ninth edition of the PSL.

Gladiators picked Sherfane Rutherford in the Platinum category while Amir, who was released by Kings, was the second pick in the category for the team. Nawaz was the team’s final pick in the Platinum category.

Muhammad Rizwan-led Mutlan Sultans had the first pick of PSL Draft 2024 in the Platinum round where they added England fast bowler David Willey to their squad.

Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Willy were all picked in the Platinum category.

Defending champions Lahore Qalanders picked star batter Fakhar Zaman and Rassie van der Dussen in the Platinum category.

Peshawar Zalim picked Afghan bowler Noor Ahmed in the Platinum category and Asif Ali in the Diamond category.
