OIC statement on Indian Supreme Court verdict irks New Delhi
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed concern over the recent verdict of the Indian Supreme Court that upheld the government’s unilateral decision to scrap Article 370 of the Indian constitution about Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement in Jeddah, the OIC reiterated its call on the international community to enhance its efforts to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, Radio Pakistan reported on Wednesday.
The OIC reaffirmed its solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their quest for the right to self-determination, it said.
Meanwhile, India has rejected the statement issued by the OIC calling it “both ill-informed and ill-intended.”
