Filmmaker Karan Johar had halted Rani Mukharji from eating anything while they were shooting Kuch Kuch Hota Hay and Rani’s mother was also aware of this.

Karan Johar hosted Rani Mukharji and Kajol in Koffee with Karan where they reminisced the memories of KKHH and Rani Karan said that he had instructed the room service to not give any food to Rani so that she could lose weight.

Karan added Rani’s mom was also part of the plan. Including Kajol all wanted her to wear a particular mini-skirt.

Here, Rani claimed that Karan “snatched food from my hand” at the time and then made amends by claiming that his “innate goodness” was what caused him to return the plate right away.

“I had told Rani that she has to lose some weight because she has to wear a short skirt in Mauritius,” Karan recounted.

“We told room service not to give you any food,” he remembered. “I was like, how is she going to wear this short orange skirt.” Krishna Aunty, Rani’s mother, was also aware of this.“

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was released in 1998 film written and directed by Karan Johar and produced by his father Yash Johar under Dharma Productions. It starrer Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukherji in lead roles.
