Islamabad police suspends three officials for not returning belongings to refugees
Islamabad police has suspended three officials for not returning possessions to Afghan refguees leaving the country.
A statement from the police said that Inspector General Nasir Akbar Khan had taken notice of reports of complaints of refugees not being given their belongings.
As a result the SSP operations suspended Shalimar police tation’s SHO, admin officer and ASI.
The Islamabad Capital City Police Officer has ordered a departmental inquiry against the officials.
Authorities began arresting refugees and transferring them to holding camps as soon as the November 1 deadline for their voluntary return expired.
The refugees are kept in the camps until they can be deported.
