** Asim Jameel, son of Maulana Tariq Jameel, a well-known religious scholar of Pakistan, died due to a bullet injury. Funeral prayers are to be offered this evening in the native village.**

The tragic incident took place in his native town Talamba in Mian Channu, Punjab.

Maulana Tariq Jameel’s other son Maulana Yusuf Jameel says that there is no enmity with his family, and there is no truth in the news of Asim Jameel’s murder.

In his message on the social website, he said that Asim Jameel had been suffering from depression since childhood, he was being treated with electric shocks for the last 6 months.

According to the doctor, Asim Jameel, the son of Maulana Tariq Jameel, was shot in the chest, he was brought to the hospital in an injured condition, but he died during the initial treatment.

According to Multan Regional Police Officer Sohail Chaudhry, Asim Jameel, the son of Maulana Tariq Jameel, snatched the pistol from the guard and shot himself while exercising in the gym. According to the police, the suicide can be clearly seen on the CCTV.

According to him, Asim Jameel was suffering from psychological problems and had been using psychiatric drugs for many years.

Maulana Tariq Jameel confirmed the news in a statement on the social media platform “X” and wrote that “Today my son Asim Jameel has died in Talamba.” This accidental death made the atmosphere mournful.

He further wrote that all of you are requested to remember us in your prayers on the occasion of this grief. May Allah grant my son a high place in Paradise.

As soon as the incident was reported, the Crime Scene Unit and Forensic Lab teams led by District Police Officer Khanewal Rana Umar Farooq arrived to collect evidence.

DP and Rana Umar Farooq said that the incident is being investigated closely after the facts come out, action will be taken as per the rules.

Later, it was announced from Maulana Tariq Jameel’s X account that his son’s funeral prayer will be offered today at 7:30 pm on the night of October 30 in his native village Raisabad, Talamba.

Former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif offered his condolences to the grieved family.

“We all share your grief over this accident. Indeed, this is an unbearable grief. Our prayers and sympathies are with you. May Allah grant the deceased a high place in His mercy and give patience to the family. Amen,” he said in a social media post.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar also expressed sorrow over the death of Asim Jamil and prayed for the bereaved family.

“May Allah grant the deceased a place in His mercy and give patience to the bereaved, Ameen,” the state broadcaster quoted him as saying.
