Punjab Food Authority confiscates 1,600 kgs of expired meat
The meat was being prepared for sale in Lahore
Punjab Food Authority recovered 1,600 kilograms of contaminated and expired meat meant for sale in Lahore on Sunday.
The Authority made the discovery during raids as part of a larger crackdown against suppliers of substandard and expired meat in the province.
Director General Raja Jahangir Anwar said that the meat was disposed of after confiscation. He said that the meat was being prepared for supply.
He added that the meat had been placed on the a contaminated floor which could lead to diseases if consumed.
