Harbhajan Singh, former test cricketer of the Indian cricket team, says that bad umpiring and bad rules cost Pakistan dearly in the match against South Africa.

In his message on social networking website X, Harbhajan Singh said that the International Cricket Council (ICC) should change the law.

The former Indian off-spinner says that if the ball hits the stumps, it should be given out, whether the umpire gives it out or not, if this is the law, then what is the benefit of such technology?

On social media, cricket fans have also raised questions about umpiring in the match against South Africa.

It should be noted that in the sensational match of the World Cup, on the last ball of the 46th over of South Africa’s innings, the Proteas scored 8 runs to win, while Pakistan needed only one wicket to win.

At that time, Haris Rauf sent the ball to South Africa’s tail-and-beater Tabrez Shamsi, which hit his pad. Pakistani team appealed for lbw, but the on-field umpire gave not out, on which Pakistan decided to take a review.

In the review, it was seen that Harris’s ball was touching the wicket slightly but was given not out by the on-field umpire, so he remained not out even after the review due to the umpire’s calls.

If the umpire had given Haris’s out on this ball, Pakistan would have won the match, while South Africa would have declared it out even if it was reviewed.

It should be remembered that in the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup match, South Africa defeated Pakistan by one wicket after a sensational match.

While batting first, the entire Pakistan team was bowled out for 270 runs in the 47th over.
