KSE-100 Index closes at six-year high level
The KSE-100 Index closed at six-year high level on Thursday as the benchmark index settled at 48,771.71 after an increase of 297.17 points or 0.61%.
“KSE-100 index went up by 297 points (48,772 pts, +0.61%) DoD ; the highest level after six years ie 9-Jun-2017 (49,527 pts),” the Arif Habib Limited said.
It was the highest closing level for the KSE-100 after six years. The index finished at 49,527 points on June 9, 2017.
The stock market has stayed on its bullish course, brokerage house Topline Securities said in a statement and added that the favourable momentum in the market was banking, fertiliser, and power sectors where EFERT, FFC, HUBC, ENGRO, and UBL collectively contributed 224 points.
In contrast, TRG, MEBL, and COLG together incurred a loss of 86 points, it added.
