A chinese restaurant in India and a food delivery app have been booked over accusations of sending non-vegetarian food chicken chilli instead of chilli paneer.

A resident of in Lucknow, India, filed a complaint that he had placed an order for chilli paneer from a chinese restaurant but they sent chilli chicken.

“The delivery boy Imran served a non-vegetarian dish, which I and my family ate and realized after consuming the dish,” he added “The action hurt our religious sentiments.” reads the FIR.

According to Indian media, the first information report was registered under the relevant sections in police station Ashiyana stating that the incident took place on October 9 when Shastri and his family ordered Chinese cuisine from a popular app but did not receive the same order.

Shastri, who claimed to be ‘associated’ with the local Lord Balaji Temple said his family accidentally consumed the dish and were “feeling uneasy” since.
