Movement across the Chaman border between Afghanistan and Pakistan was closed once again on Thursday after a dispute over valid documents.

Reports said that Pakistani officials stopped Afghan citizens carrying the e-Tazikra from entering the country early through the Friendship Gates on Thursday.

In response, Afghan Taliban officials pushed back Pakistani citizens with valid NICs back aross the border.

The actions by both sides resulted in suspension of movement across the border from both sides.

Earlier this year, the border had to be closed after Afghan officials tried to construct a building on the Pakistani side of the border leading to clashes.

The border closure comes a few days after Pakistan issued a deadline for all illegal Afghan refugees to return to their home country or face deportation.
