A group of students, holding batons, stopped at least 26 point buses of Sindh University in Hyderabad on Thursday, eyewitnesses said, spreading fears among female students.

But the Students Affairs director denied such reports. The police did not take any action against the group, eyewitnesses said.

Earlier this year, two persons including the driver of a point bus of Sindh University were killed in separate incidents in Hyderabad.

Two unidentified assailants riding on a motorbike attacked the driver Ghulam Ali Gann at a roadside hotel near Central Jail early in the morning when he was on routine duty to pick the varsity’s students from Hyderabad to Jamshoro.

The drivers and staff of the SU blocked the road outside the Central Jail in protest by parking the buses.
