Police seeks permission to arrest Asad Umar and Imran Khan’s sisters
Punjab police have approached an anti-terrorism court in Lahore to request permission to arrest Imran Khan’s sisters, Uzma Khanum and Aleema Khan, in the Jinnah House attack case. Request has also been made for the arrest of Asad Umar.
Police made the request during a hearing in the Jinnah House attack case on Wednesday after telling the court that all three had been involved in the incident.
The investigation offier said that a report by a Joint Investigatino Team had found all three to be guilty and their arrest was needed for investigation. The officer said that Aleema Khan was known to be on the site of the attack on May 9.
However, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s lawyer Burhan Muazzam said that Aleema and Uzma had not been nominated in the case and demanded to see the statements that had called them guilty.
The investigation officer said that he would show all the statements to PTI’s lawyer after which the judge called for a break in proceedings.
Violent protests had broken out across Pakistan after Imran Khan’s arrest on May 9 in the Toshakhana case. In Lahore, protestors had attacked and burnt the Corps Commander House.
