10 terrorists killed in KP’s Tank operation: ISPR
At least 10 terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire with army men in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank district, the Inter-Services Public Relations said on Tuesday.
In a statement, the military’s media wing said that the operation was conducted in the Pezu area of Tank after getting information about the terrorists’ presence.
The terrorists were involved in attacks on security forces, murder of civilians, and extortion, it said, and added that a heavy amount of arms and ammunition were recovered from the site.
The statement added that the locals appreciated the operation. “Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country.”
Earlier in the day, the apex committee said that the anti-terrorist operations would continue in the country. The decision was taken under the National Action Plan.
A terrorist attack in Balochistan on 12 Rabiul Awwal rocked Pakistan. The suicide bombing killed at least 59 people and over 60 injured, raising concerns about the country’s security situation.
The committee also decided that actions would also be taken against the facilitators of terrorists.
“Terrorists are the enemies of the country and nation,” caretaker PM Kakar said at the meeting.
