Sindh IGP seeks report from SSP on harassment of female students in Karachi
Sindh Inspector General of Police Riffat Mukhtar has sought a report from the relevant senior superintendent of police on the harassment of female university students travelling in a bus in Karachi.
Mukhtar took notice after a video of a man on a motorcycle exposing himself to students on the Rashid Minhas Road surfaced on social media.
“A case of harassment of university students. IG Sindh Rafat Mukhtar Raja sought details from the concerned SSP on media reports,” the Sindh Police said in a post on X, erstwhile Twitter.
According to media reports, the incident occurred on September 28 and the students were enrolled at the University of Karachi.
In a statement from the District Central police, said a case would be registered on the complaint of the state.
In recent past, many incidents of harassment have been reported in Karachi.
