Pakistan team secured the silver medal after losing the final of the squash event to India on Saturday at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China.

India took a 2-1 lead to clinch the gold medal. Pakistan won the first round as Pakistan’s Nasir Iqbal took a strong start defeating Mahesh Mangaonkar.

However, Asim Khan and Noor Zaman were defeated in the second and third rounds.

China’s President Xi Jinping opened the 19th Asian Games in the Eastern city of Hangzhou during a spectacular and at times raucous ceremony on September 23.

Spectators in the city’s 80,000 capacity stadium let out a huge roar as Xi was introduced and walked in to sit with visiting dignitaries including International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach and Syria President Bashar al-Assad.
