A senior woman leaders from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was granted bail in the Corps Commander House attack case for the first time on Friday.

Rubina Jamil, who served as a member of the National Assembly on a reserved seat, was given bail on medical grounds by an anti-terrorism court in Lahore.

The judgement written by Judge Ijaz Buttar adds that the police record indicates that Jamil was empty handed at the time of the protest and was only raising slogans.

He therefore granted her bail on medical grounds and asked for surety bonds worth Rs100,000 to be submitted.

However, police sources said that Jamil will not be freed despite the bail.

The sources said that more clauses have been added to the FIR against the PTI leader and she will have to get bailed in the new charges as well.

She is also nominated in two other cases in which bail will have to be obtained before she is freed.
