Dera Bugti: residents protest, demand speedy recovery of football players

The protest over the abduction of six footballers in Dera Bugti entered in fifth day demanding immediate recovery.

On September 8, six footballers who were part of the eighteen-member team that was going to Sibbi to participate in the province organized tournament, were kidnapped from the outskirts of Dera Bugti.

The players were travelling in a pick up truck near the Kachhi Canal on the outskirts of Dera Bugti when the incident happened. The motive was not immediately clear.

The authorities of southern province of Balochistan have deployed the paramilitary on searching mission of players.

However, the members of civil society and tribal elders participated in the protest staged by the family members and residents who demanded immediate recovery of missing players.

A rally led by Mir Liaquat Bugti was staged in the town of Dera Bugti where members held placards demanded elected members, Shahzain Bugti, Gohram Bugti, and the deputy commissioner and security forces to recover all as soon as possible.
