Indian Police arrested three people accused of beating and stripping a woman publicly and recording the act on camera, one of the accused is the woman’s husband.

The incident occurred in the Paratapgarh district of Rajasthan, where a 21-year-old tribal woman was allegedly stripped naked and paraded by her husband.

The police started a probe after a video went viral on social media.

The accused claimed the woman was allegedly in a relationship with another man.

India Today reported that the incident took place on Monday when the in-laws of a woman who got married last year alleged that she eloped with a man in the neighbourhood.

A case was registered against ten people under sections 297 (obscene act), 354 (assaulting women), 365 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code and section 67 (transmitting obscene material) of the Information Technology Act.

“The In-laws of the woman were annoyed as she went somewhere else. They kidnapped her and took her back home where the horrific incident happened,” DGP Umesh Mishra told an Indian News agency PTI.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took notice of the video and ordered strict action against the accused and his family.

The senior cop also mentioned that all suspects had been identified and police teams were working to arrest the accused.
