American rapper Eminem asked Republican candidate for the presidential election 2024 Vivek Ramaswamy to stop rapping his songs in the election campaign, reported Daily Mail.

Eminem in a letter reached out to the music licenser BMI and asked to revoke the licence of Ramaswamy’s music he was using in the campaign.

In a letter dated August 23, a representative for BMI informed the campaign’s lawyer that the label had ’received communication from Marshall B Mathers, III, professionally known as Eminem, objected Vivek Ramaswamy on use of his musical compositions (the ‘Eminem Works’) in his campaign. He requested the BMI to remove all his work from the agreement.

“BMI will consider any performance of Eminen works by the Ramaswamy from this date to be a material breach of its licence.”

Referring to an Eminem lyric, campaign spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement to US media: “Vivek just got on the stage and cut loose.”

The 38-year-old, a newcomer is seen as rising star in politics after a strong performance at last week’s Republican debate.

According to BBC, he has positioned himself as an outsider willing to develop former president Donald Trump’s agenda “American First”.
