World javelin throw champion Neeraj Chopra has applauded his Pakistani opponent Arshad Nadeem, saying that he was happy to see Arshad’s performance.

“Man’s Javelin throw is being described as the game of Pakistan and India,” Neeraj told reporters. “I usually don’t check my mobile phone before the match, but today when I saw the social media there was a Pakistan vs India match seen everywhere.”

Neeraj won gold at the World Athlete Championship as he threw the javelin at a distance of approximately 88.17 metres while Arshad secured second position by throwing his javelin at 87.82 metres.

“Not only Arshad Nadeem but Europe-based Jakub and Julian Weber are also dangerous players who can create a big throw anytime, that’s why you have to keep an eye on other players.”

Applauding Arshad, he added: “I am very happy to see Arshad on the second number because Pakistan and India secured victories in a game traditionally dominated by European countries.”

Furthermore, he said the Asian games will be over next event and Pakistan and India will be only discussed in the event.
