PTI chief Imran Khan confesses losing US cypher
PTI Chairman Imran has confessed misplacing the US cypher in the investigation carried out by a team of the Federal Investigation Agency in the Attock jail on Saturday, sources said.
Earlier, the six-member FIA team led by Deputy Director Ayaz arrived at the Attock jail to investigate Khan in case relating to the US cypher. The team members asked several questions from the PTI chief for more than an hour.
During the investigation, Khan confessed misplacing the US cypher. The former prime minister said that he did not remember who he handed over the cypher to or where it was kept.

The PTI chief claimed in March 2022 that the cypher contained details of a meeting between US assistant secretary for South Asia Donald Lu and Pakistani ambassador Asad Majeed and that Lu had warned the ambassador of consequence if Khan stayed in power.
He later retracted it partially saying it was Gen (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa and not Washington that hatched the conspiracy.
Earlier, when the alleged contents of the cypher were published by The Intercept, the government booked Imran Khan for leaking the cypher under Official Secrets Act, though it did not confirm the authenticity of what was published by the online American magazine.
