Musk says X will end block feature soon
X (formerly Twitter) owner Elon Musk has announced that the application will end its block feature soon.
Musk’s announcement came in repsonse to a question posted by a user asking “Is there ever a reason to block vs mute someone? Give your reasons.”
The account had looked for answers from the platforms users, but the answer came from the owner himself.
“Block is going to be deleted as a “feature”, except for DMs,” Musk wrote in reply.
Then, he added his reasoning for the step as well.
“It makes no sense.”
The block function allows users to shut out anouther user from seeing their content completely. Musk has not given a date for when the function will be removed.
However, a user pointed out that removing the block option might constitute a violation of App Store guidelines.
The announcement is only one in a long series of quirky changes Musk has made to the platform since acquiring it, including the name and logo being changed.
