A body found in the jungle of Khyber Pakhtukhwa’s Tank was identified as a missing young cricketer, the police said on Sunday.

“A suspect has been arrested and further investigation of the incident was under way,” Tank District Police Officer Waqar Ahmed told Aaj News. The site of the accident falls under the jurisdiction of Gomal Police Station.

Usman, 26, left his house in Jais Murgi Colony five days ago on someone’s phone call but he did not return home then, according to the police. They were searching for him. The body was shifted to the district headquarters hospital.

The body was identified by the family.

The police said that Usman was unmarried and belonged to Sararogha Tehsil of South Waziristan.

The complaint invoked charges of acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention, causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender, punishment of qatl-i-amd, kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person.

The first information report alleged that the victim was abducted by an unidentified man and a friend after being deceived by him. It claimed that the victim was killed and his body was thrown at the location.

“We have no enmity with anyone,” said the complaint, however, added there might be some resentment with anyone.
