Pakistan ended day one of the second Test after scoring 145 runs at the loss of two wickets in Colombo on Monday.

Opening batter Abdullah Shafique was unbeaten on 74. Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam was on the other end on 8, as Pakistan raced to 145 for 2 before bad light brought an end to play.

Earlier, Sri Lanka batting lineup was in shatters as the whole team was sent back to pavilion on 166 before tea.

Of the entire batting lineup, just four Sri Lankan batters reach double figures before the first innings of the hosts folded. Dhananjaya de Silva remained the top performer for Sri Lanka, having scored 57.

However, no other batter could take a stand at the crease as six batters could not reach double figures.

For Pakistan, Abrar Ahmed ended with 4 for 69, while Naseem Shah picked 3 for 41, as they dismantled the Sri Lankan batting.

After opening batter Imam ul Haq was caught out, Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood continued hitting boundaries and rotating the strike.

The pair put together 108 runs at a rate of 5.58 before Masood was dismissed. He scored 51 of 47 balls.
