Former cricketer Shahid Afridi was trending on social media on Friday for his power-hitting. The ex-Pakistani all-rounder made 23 off 12 deliveries at the GT20 Canada.

Afridi, also known as Boom Boom and Lala amongst his fans, is playing for Toronto Nationals in the third season of the T20 cricket league. He hit two big sixes and two fours in his quick-fire innings.

The Toronto Nationals were playing against Vancouver Knights. The GT20 Canada is the first-ever major cricket league in North America. There are six teams in the event: Mississauga Panthers, Toronto Nationals, Vancouver Knights, Brampton Wolves, Montreal Tigers, and Surrey Jaguars.

Many big names in cricket like Shoaib Malik, Tim Southee, Jimmy Neesham, and Colin Munro.

Legendary Shahid Afridi retired from international cricket in 2017. In his 21-year career, the 36-year-old star had already quit Tests in 2010 and ODI cricket after the 2015 World Cup but still skippered the Pakistan Twenty20 team at the 2016 world championships in India.

Afridi was instrumental in Pakistan’s early successes in Twenty20, including their 2009 victory.
