Additional water from melting glaciers caused the Chitral river to overflow its banks on Friday.

The floodwater inundated multiple houses in the Ayun valley.

Locals appealed to the government for action, saying that the whole valley could be run over by water if nothing was done.

On the other hand, heavy rains and landsliding cause Lipa valley to be cut off by land completely.

Blockage of Moji and Sher Gali road have caused long lines of vehicles to pile up on both sides affecting both tourists and locals.

Pakistan is one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change and floods are almost a regular annual occurrence.
