PM expresses gratitude to UAE president for financial assistance
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation with President of United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday and expressed his thanks for extending assistance in ensuring economic stability in Pakistan.
In a statement released from the PM Office, the prime minister acknowledged the support of the UAE president for the welfare of the country which reflected the latter’s care for the people of Pakistan.
He also thanked the UAE president for depositing $1 billion in the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) which eventually helped Islamabad to secure International Monetary Fund’s bailout package.
The prime minister, also recalled his last visit to the UAE earlier this year, reiterating once again the determination of both countries’ leadership to ‘taking forward their fraternal bonds in mutually beneficial economic ties’.
Moreover, both leaders also discussed measures to facilitate and create more feasible opportunities for the Pakistani workforce in the UAE.
