‘Threatening’ letters sent to 18 families in KP’s Swabi
At least 18 families in Dagai village of Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have received threatening letters, directing them to withdraw money and jewellery from banks and to keep it at home.
The copy of the alleged letter, available with Aaj Digital, also claimed responsibility for the previous theft in the area. The letter, dated July 13, apparently seems to be an attempt to force the families to keep the money at home so it can be stolen from them.
“Keep all of your money and gold at your home and withdraw the money and gold from banks also and keep it in your home. You will be killed if you failed to do that,” the letter stated.
The affected families have filed a report at the police station and demanded the arrest of the accused, while the elders of the local jirga stated that the area residents will not be intimidated by the threats.
